Pinto Tercero leads the European ORC SportBoat Queen’s Trophy

The fleet sailed with an average of 7-8 knots and a distance of 27.7 miles in the first day of inshore competition of the emblematic regatta of the Real Club Náutico de Valencia

The ORC SportBoat European Championship race started in the waters of Valencia. The thirteen units of the class starred this Thursday in the opening of the coastal racing program of the 'XXV Trofeo S.M. la Reina - Regata Homenaje a la Armada - XXXVI Copa Almirante Marcial Sánchez-Barcaíztegui', organized by the Real Club Náutico de Valencia (RCNV). The ORC SportBoat European Championship in Valencia has a fleet with boats from Spain, UK, Turkey and Italy, sailing models Tom 28, MaxFun 25, GP 26, Sonar 23, Platú 25, Farr 25, J80, ESTE24, and FC8, which belong, depending on the class, to A and B divisions.

On the other hand, this Friday, July 5, it will be time for the ClubSwan 42 class (qualifying race of The Nations League circuit) and the ORC fleet from 0 to 4 with the respective windward-leeward coastal races. In addition, on Saturday and Sunday the Open and Promotion classes will be added.

It is worth remembering that the competition program of the SM La Reina Trophy already started last Friday, June 28th with an offshore regatta and a 160 nautical mile course. The winner of the Offshore race was the M10 ZAS C&R, skippered by José Luis Francés, of the shipowners Carlos and José Francés, competing for the RCN of Valencia.

An emblematic regatta The organization of the 'XXV Trofeo S.M. La Reina - Regata Homenaje a la Armada - XXXVI Copa Almirante Marcial Sánchez-Barcaíztegui' has fulfilled one of the objectives set for this 2024, having surpassed the 109 boats of the last edition for the 130, with the complete fleet, that will be in the waters of Valencia this year.

The RCNV organizes this regatta reference in the Mediterranean by delegateion of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) with the collaboration of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community (FVCV). This nautical event of recognized international prestige is part, as an International Regatta, of the Official Calendar of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation. The Trofeo S.M. La Reina is scoring for the Mediterranean Sailing Circuit and for the Lliga de creuers de la Comunitat Valenciana.
